Local History Displays

Our displays, which change regularly, highlight aspects of life in Bundanoon from early days to the present.

The Old Goods Shed display area will be open from 10am – 12:30 on the first Saturday and the third Sunday of each month, or by appointment.

Fund Raising

Various fund-raising events take place each year, the main ones being the Biennial Book Sale and the Mother’s Day Raffle. The The Book Sale is held in the Bundanoon Memorial Hall, and is always a popular event.

Social activities such as lunches or dinners at local restaurants also help to raise funds.

The history group also run raffles and trivia nights at the Bundanoon Club.

Oral History Annual Morning Tea

Every year the Bundanoon History Group holds a popular community event to play excerpts from the oral history interviews recorded during the past year.

Research

Members are encouraged to assist with research and archiving of material, but there is no obligation to do so.

A recent initiative is the collection of recorded oral histories involving long-term residents of the village.

We have an honorary archivist who oversees the collection and researches queries from members of the public.

Information and photographs relating to Bundanoon are always welcome

Outings

Every year, the group organises trips (by coach or self drive) to places of  historical interest. These are usually day excursions, occasionally overnight trips or longer holidays.

In 2017, we visited Joadja, Gunning, and Hill End. These trips extend our knowledge of the history of the local area and provide members and guests with an interesting and enjoyable outing.

In April 2022, a 7 night trip to Norfolk Island was organised and in October 2022 there was a 3 day coach trip to Junee.
